We're seeking an experienced Senior Accountant who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and takes pride in delivering accurate, insightful financial information to help drive business decisions and maintain compliance with GAAP. In this role, you'll be a key member of our finance team, responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, preparing and reviewing financial reports, supporting audits and month-end close activities, as well as gain exposure to some reporting activities for the Finance function. You'll work closely with the Controller and cross-functional partners to identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to the continued financial health and operational success of the company.

The ideal candidate will bring advanced Excel skills, strong analytical abilities, and a proactive mindset to identify improvement opportunities and propose thoughtful solutions to the team. This role will report to the Controller and spend 2-3 days per week in our headquarters office in Irvine, CA, and the remaining 2 days working from home.

Essential Duties:
  • Review the Daily Deposit and Cash Balance reports
  • Support the deposit clerk position from time to time (deposit checks, scan EOBs)
  • Reconcile all Balance Sheet accounts including cash, prepaids, fixed assets, other assets, accounts payable, accrued expenses, and others
  • Assist with the year-end audit, month-end close, and year-end close
  • Monitor GL activity for compliance with GAAP and interface with Controller on all errors and potential improvements recognized
  • Assist the laboratory and Controller in the monthly inventory of all laboratory reagents and supplies
  • Interface with various management and others for financial data requests/reports
  • Review and assist with Accounts Payable Specialist's work and ensure timely entries in accordance with GAAP
  • Analyze and create process improvements through developing spreadsheet reports
  • Assist billing department with invoices and accounts receivable reconciliations
  • Prepare monthly commissions file and communicate/analyze results with the SVP, Finance.
  • Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
  • Prepare additional detailed reports using advanced Excel formulas and pivot tables.
  • Other duties as assigned, including FP&A as needed.

Required Skills:
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Advanced Excel skills, proficiency in Word and PowerPoint

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
  • Minimum of two (2) years accounting experience required
  • CPA preferred, but not required
