Come join the Newport Beach Police Department as an Animal Control Officer!

Currently, there is one full-time position available. This recruitment will remain open on a continuous basis with the first review of applications on September 4, 2025 or after 200 applications are received, whichever occurs first. Selection Components:

• Application Evaluation: The most qualified applicants will be invited to an interview.
• Interview: Tentatively scheduled for the week of September 30, 2025. Successful candidates will be placed on an eligibility list and may be invited to start the background process.

• Experience: One year of experience working with animals is desirable.
• Education: Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade.
• License/Certificates: A valid California driver's license and an acceptable driving record are required due to field duties involving vehicle operation. Ability to obtain P.O.S.T. PC 832 certification within one year of appointment.
