Position Summary:

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys automating processes, creating build and release pipelines in Azure DevOps, integrating, and automating various Cloud and on-premises tools used in the software development process to help deliver business value efficiently. The Azure DevOps Engineer will report to our Azure DevOps Manager with the opportunity to work from Veros' headquarters in Santa Ana, California office.

The candidate should have a good background in programming language concepts, including the use of object-oriented languages, and be able to apply that knowledge to the task at hand. This position will integrate and automate tools using REST, SOAP, proprietary APIs, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), etc. The programming language used for a task may vary depending on the problem being solved and could include PowerShell, C#, Python, SQL, or similar programming languages. As Veros continues to evaluate various tools and technologies, this position will provide valuable input on the best automation and integration approaches and languages.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Integrating and automating tools, processes, and systems.
• Working to continue automating and improving the DevOps pipeline.
• Automating processes with Azure DevOps in a hybrid model (Azure Cloud / on-premises), as well as collaborating with Development and Quality Assurance teams to integrate and automate unit and other tests as part of the DevOps pipeline.
• Performing scripting and automation
• Being involved with other team tasks, such as performing builds and deployments, knowledge management, writing internal documentation, audit-related tasks, and completing administrative tasks.
• Working with various teams within the company and should have some interest in the following areas: software development, software and systems architecture, quality assurance, cloud migration, IT infrastructure, databases, system administration, and process improvement.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong problem-solving skills are essential.

• A self-starter who can assess and resolve problems with moderate to limited supervision and has a commitment and love of DevOps and continuous improvement and deployment.
• Strong attention to detail and proactive.
• Ability to follow established standard operating procedures and processes.

• Experience working with Microsoft Windows Server platforms, including IIS and Windows services. Most of the work will be in these environments.
• Experience automating processes, building, and deploying ASP.NET or ASP.NET Core applications to IIS.
• Experience writing PowerShell scripts or previous software development experience.
• Ability to apply good software development practices to scripting and automation (such as unit testing, source control with code reviews, code reuse, modularization, creating subroutines, design patterns, object-oriented design, etc.).
• Good understanding of SDLC lifecycle concepts including versioning, source control, defect tracking, automated build systems, and production controls.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
• Basic to intermediate level programming experience with .NET, C#, ASP.NET.
• Demonstrated experience in improving software development life cycle such as scrum.
• Familiarity with Azure cloud.
• Experience with Azure DevOps implementation and administration.
• Familiarity with Terraform.
• Experience writing basic SQL queries and working with databases such as Oracle, Snowflake, or SQL Server.
• Administrative experience on Windows Server platforms.
• Experience working with IT infrastructure (networking, load balancers, firewalls, etc.)
• Basic proficiency with Linux (navigation, shell scripting).
