Your Role on the Team

Position Summary:

Involves the implementation of healthcare-associated infection reduction strategies for patients and staff through assessment and risk identification, researching current literature and practice, study development and presentation publication, development, implementation, monitoring and reporting prevention strategies, routine and focused surveillance, policy and procedure development, training and education program development and collaboration with staff in departments across the institution.

What It Takes to be Successful

Required Qualifications:

  • Skills in IT as it relates to infection control as well as skills in conducting online research.
  • Minimum of 7 years experience as an infection preventionist with demonstrated ability in design, implementation and sustainment of performance improvement activities in a health care setting
  • Knowledge of current trends and best practices in epidemiology and infection prevention
  • In-depth hospital leadership and strategic planning skills, with expertise in infection control and prevention methodologies and protocols.
  • In depth knowledge of relevant regulatory requiremewns, we wll as related legislative, accreditation, licensing and compliance environment.
  • Highly advanced anyalytical organizational, and problem-solving skills, with in-depth ability to develop and pursue goal, synthesize data to identify systems vulnerabilities, and develop and apply innovative solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Excellent public speaking skills
  • Certification in Infection Control (CIC)
  • CPT/HCPC Coding Knowledge
  • Bachelors Degree in related field
  • Advanced skills in developing strategic plans , creating benchmarks, integrating programs, building staff competencies, organizing operations and fiscal management.
  • Advanced leadership, interpersonal and fiscal managements skills, with the ability to create and maintain a goal-oriented climate of teamwork and collaboration with a consistent achievement of objectives.
  • Advanced knowledge of relevant healthcare information technology, including infection prevention and control workflows and processes, relevant system and data management techniques and methodologies.
  • 7+ years of progressive leadership and management experience in an academic medical center, public health or a large, integrated, tertiary health care setting.
