Job Summary

The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for leading and executing day-to-day HR functions at the assigned Sunny Sky Products (SSP) manufacturing plant(s). This role partners closely with plant leadership to foster a high-performance culture built on our Core Principles, ensuring best-in-class programs for team members. Key responsibilities include talent acquisition, employee relations, training and development, safety leadership, compliance, and benefits administration. The HR Generalist plays a critical role in building an engaged, high-performing workforce while ensuring adherence to all legal, regulatory, and company policies.

Major Job Functions

  • Collaborate with plant manager and department leaders to understand plant priorities and develop HR strategies that support the plant goals. Advise managers on workforce planning, succession planning and talent pipeline development.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor for employee relations, coaching leaders on conflict resolution, performance management, and disciplinary actions.
  • Partner with plant leaders to strengthen employee engagement and reinforce organization culture.
  • Facilitate performance management processes, including goal setting, reviews and development planning. Support leadership development, training initiative and career pathing efforts.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for employees' questions regarding policies, benefits and procedures. Support the resolution of employee issues, escalating as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with GMPs, federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Serves as a champion for safety initiatives, promoting a strong safety culture.
  • Participate in the recruiting process for all local positions including interviewing, hiring, and onboarding qualified candidates in collaboration with department managers.
  • Partner with recruiting to ensure pre-employment processes, background checks, and eligibility verifications are completed accurately and on time.
  • Enhance job satisfaction by resolving issues promptly, applying new perks and benefits and organizing culture building activities
  • Execute new hire orientation and employee recognition programs. Recommend improvements with a focus on our Core Principles.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Deliver HR/Safety training programs and materials to educate employees and managers
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.


Required Skills/Abilities/Education
  • Bi-lingual Spanish required.
  • 5 years in a Human Resources Generalist role supporting a small organization and 3 years specific state
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, conflict resolution, analytical and problem-solving skills required.
  • Attention to detail & organizational skills required.
  • Through knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations specific to the state the position is located.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficiency with HRIS and talent management systems, experience with UKG preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field required.
  • SHRM certification a plus.
