Position Overview:
Our client is seeking an experienced Production Manager to oversee and optimize our production operations. This role is responsible for developing and implementing production schedules, managing inventory levels, and ensuring that all production activities align with customer orders while maintaining compliance with HACCP guidelines.

The Production Manager will also manage raw material inventories, production formulas, and co-manufacturing processes to maximize efficiency and product quality. This position requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including Procurement, Receiving, Quality Assurance, Logistics, Safety and Human Resource to ensure seamless operations and customer satisfaction.

Company Overview: This company specializes in white labeling and co-packaging for hemp consumer packaged goods (CPG) products, including cannabis-related items like prerolls, vapes, and gummies. While they do not cultivate hemp themselves, they focus on manufacturing and packaging these products before handing them off to other companies, which then brand, distribute, and sell them. The ideal hire for this role should have experience in a startup-like environment, particularly in establishing standard operating procedures (SOPs) and organizational structures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute detailed production schedules to meet customer orders and forecasted demand while maximizing resource utilization and maintaining timelines.
• Create and maintain staffing schedules to ensure optimal workforce allocation.
• Monitor raw material and finished product inventory levels, coordinating with Procurement to ensure timely availability of required materials.
• Analyze production workflows and implement improvements to enhance operational efficiency, reduce waste, and maintain high product quality.
• Establish workflow policies that increase speed and efficiency without compromising product safety or integrity.
• Ensure all production activities comply with cGMP/HACCP standards and relevant food safety regulations.
• Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to uphold and improve food safety protocols.
• Work closely with department managers to align production schedules with operational capabilities, proactively addressing any challenges or constraints.
• Utilize production data to generate performance reports, analyze key metrics, and identify trends and areas for improvement.
• Effectively address and resolve production issues, including equipment malfunctions, supply shortages, or scheduling conflicts.

Qualifications:

• Bilingual in English and Spanish
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Food Science, or a related field is preferred.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in production planning within the consumable goods processing industry; experience in hemp processing is highly desirable.
• Comprehensive knowledge of cGMP/HACCP principles and food/consumable goods safety regulations.
• Strong understanding of California Labor laws, Workers' Compensation, and OSHA/Safety regulations.
• Proficiency in production planning software and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
• Exceptional analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with a proven track record of cross-functional collaboration.
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to overcoming challenges.
• Highly organized, self-motivated, and detail-oriented.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Adaptable, dependable, and team-oriented with a strong work ethic.

Compensation:
$110,000 - $140,000 per year (commensurate with experience and qualifications).
Benefits health, dental and vision. Employer pays 70% for employee only for all three.

Schedule:
We run a 24/5 currently. Our three shifts are 5am-1:30pm, 2-10:30pm, and 11-4:30am. The first few months the Production Manager will touch on all three shifts to get together with the shift supervisors and then have them focus on 8-5/6pm after that.
