Position Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Remote Calendar Clerk to join our litigation support team. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a legal environment, particularly in insurance defense, and will be responsible for managing and maintaining the firm's litigation calendar across multiple jurisdictions. THIS ROLE REQUIRES TO HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH THE CA COURTS.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain and update the firm's master litigation calendar, including court dates, deadlines, hearings, depositions, and other critical events.
Monitor court rules and deadlines to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal requirements.
Coordinate with attorneys, paralegals, and legal assistants to confirm scheduling and deadline accuracy.
Calculate and docket deadlines based on court rules and case-specific timelines.
Communicate with court clerks and opposing counsel to confirm or reschedule appearances as needed.
Generate and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly calendar reports to legal teams.
Assist with e-filing and document management as needed.
Qualifications
2+ years of experience in a legal calendar or docketing role, preferably in insurance defense.
Strong knowledge of court rules and procedures in Massachusetts and California.
Proficiency with legal calendaring software (e.g., CompuLaw, ProLaw, or similar).
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
