Description

Position Summary:Welcomes and attends to the recreation needs of all Club members. Assists members with
use of recreation equipment such as kayaks, umbrellas, paddleboards, boats, and bikes.
Ensures pool area, fitness center, and rental equipment are kept clean and appropriately
supplied according to department procedures and standards to exceed member
satisfaction.

Primary Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

  1. Warmly greets and welcomes members/guests upon arrival. Provides general recreation area orientation and offers amenities such as water, towels, refreshments, etc. Answers general questions about property and amenities. May escort members to/from recreation areas.
  2. Assists members with the use of recreation equipment such as kayaks, paddleboards, umbrellas, and bikes to exceed member satisfaction. Cleans returned equipment and prepare it for use by the next member.
  3. Maintains cleanliness of recreation areas and equipment, including the fitness center, pools, boats, and childcare areas. Disposes of trash and dirty linens in the proper area. Stocks towels, linens, supplies, and amenities in the pool and lounge areas, and hospitality stations.
  4. Promotes recreation programs such as swimming, social recreation, fitness classes, camps, childcare, and any special events. Maintains knowledge of available amenities and upcoming events.
  5. Maintains linen closet in a clean, neat, and orderly manner. Assists with restocking as assigned.
  6. Immediately reports any noted repairs or maintenance of recreation or public areas.
  7. Resolves member complaints within scope of authority otherwise refer the matter to management. Notifies supervisor and/or Security of all unusual events, circumstances, missing items, or alleged theft. Notifies management of any problems resulting from member complaints, intoxication or disruptive behavior
  8. Must wear non-slip, oil-resistant shoes. Follows all safety policies and procedures. Reports potential safety issues to the manager whenever observed and takes immediate action to resolve in emergency situations. OSHA laws require the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when performing work duties that have the potential of risk to your health or safety. Team members will be trained in the proper use and care of assigned PPE if applicable. The club provides the required PPE. A team member has a responsibility to report defective, damaged, or lost PPE or equipment that does not fit properly to their Manager. Maintains strict compliance with the Club's Hazardous Material (HAZMAT) program and familiarizes itself with current MSDS.
  9. Reporting to work as scheduled (on time and on a regular basis) is an essential function of the job.
Other Responsibilities/Supportive Functions:
  1. May be required to perform duties of Childcare Attendant.
  2. Retrieves, stocks,and stores the recreation or childcare supplies according to the prescribed department, safety and security procedures and regulations.
  3. Cleans all corridors, pool, and service areas as assigned.
  4. Notifies management of unsafe conditions, needed maintenance of any rooms or equipment, and any accidents.
Qualifications

Qualifications (relevant experience, education, and training):
  1. No formal education required.
  2. Prior related experience in a club environment preferred.
  3. Requires the ability to serve the needs of members/guests through the use of the phone, computer, and face-to-face interactions. Contacts sometimes contain confidential/sensitive information so it requires the ability to use discretion. Must demonstrate a positive attitude and professional demeanor. Requires strong communication and interpersonal skills and commitment to a high level of member satisfaction.
  4. Requires the ability to perform basic math skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  5. Completes all training and continuing education as required. May be required to obtain CPR and First Aid Certificate within 30 days of employment.
  6. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  7. Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, team members may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the club. Work schedules will include working on holidays, weekends, and alternate shifts.
  8. Must maintain a clean and appearance and professional demeanor.
