This position requires daily travel to locations in and around the Buffalo Metro area, including the Buffalo airport.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting, servicing, installing (deploying), and repairing Trace, X-Ray, CT X-Ray, and Cargo Inspection equipment at customer sites. Maintain field service logs and filing systems to organize and document all work until completion. Demonstrate initiative by effectively utilizing downtime and consistently exceeding customer and company expectations. Conduct follow-up calls to ensure customer satisfaction.

  1. Meet daily service repair needs and enhance customer satisfaction.
  2. Foster positive customer relations through effective communication.
  3. Install, repair, and maintain equipment; provide customer training as needed.
  4. Respond promptly to emergency and scheduled service calls.
  5. Complete scheduled maintenance within deadlines; document all inspections and repairs timely.
  6. Order, install, and manage parts and repair cycles efficiently.
  7. Maintain accurate inventory of parts and tools.
  8. Keep technical certifications current.
  9. Review logs for open issues and prepare reports for customers.
  10. Participate in service sales and revenue programs.
  11. Seek knowledge growth and support from senior FSTs.
  12. Ensure tools and test equipment are maintained and calibrated.
  13. Assess product performance and recommend improvements.
  14. Provide technical support to customers and colleagues.
  15. Participate in site surveys, pilot programs, meetings, and special projects.
  16. Possess solid technical knowledge of Trace and X-Ray technologies.
  17. Maintain clear oral and written communication skills.
  18. Build relationships with senior FSTs and Product Managers to support customer needs and stay updated on technical trends.
  19. Control costs and maximize revenue through effective measures.
  20. Submit expenses, time cards, and administrative documents timely.
  21. Travel, overtime, and non-standard work hours may be required.
  22. Comply with health, safety, environmental policies, and export regulations.
  23. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education/Training: Associate's Degree or related trade certification (electrical, electronic, mechanical), military training, or equivalent experience (>3 years in electrical/mechanical field service). Computer literacy and aptitude for learning specialized software.

Experience: Minimum of 5 years in troubleshooting and field repair of electrical and electronic systems.

Knowledge/Skills: Excellent communication, customer focus, teamwork, responsiveness, and willingness to travel on short notice.

Supervisory Role: Supervision not primary but may be required on projects.

Background: Requires Sensitive Security Information (SSI) access, TSA vetting, and possibly a U.S. Security Clearance.

Additional Requirements: Organizational skills, stress management, reliability, excellent telephone skills, ability to lift 80 lbs., operate carts and cranes, full body mobility, and safety awareness.

Work Environment: Locations vary, including airports, correctional facilities, courthouses, cruise ships, etc.
