Arcadis seeks an Industrial Water Regional Growth Lead to join our Design and Engineering team as a seller / doer. This technical position will be key to our growth in the US, undertaking conceptual and detailed process design for industrial water treatment and sustainability projects in a variety of industries including Technology, Oil & Gas, Food & Beverage, Life Science, Aerospace, Automotive, Chemical, Pulp & Paper.
In this role, you will be a key member of Arcadis' national practice and will lead and direct the development of industrial water / wastewater projects in California and throughout North America across multiple sectors and for numerous Arcadis clients. Industrial Water is one of the fastest growing global business sectors and at Arcadis we are poised for significant growth through the delivery of large, complicated projects across a diverse sector of clients and geographies. In this role you will support with the Client Management / Development along with serving as a technical expert during the execution of projects. This is a client-facing role with an expectation to collaborate with various Arcadis locations to support projects and client development nationally as well as globally. This opportunity is ideally suitable for someone who comes from a consulting engineering background within the Water Sector, with a focus on Industrial Water / Wastewater Treatment.
Responsibilities:
- Support the development of the Industrial Water process team across a variety of market sectors.
- Support Arcadis industrial water growth in CA.
- Lead projects and clients in the planning, design and construction of Water / Wastewater treatment plants and wastewater recycle plants for industrial clients.
- Coordinate multi-disciplined engineering teams.
- Lead or serve as Subject Matter Expert for complex engineering designs for industrial water projects while collaborating with other design disciplines. Routine tasks include: Design basis documents (provide direction / review), Engineering calculations including mass and energy balances (provide direction / review), Review of engineering drawings (P&IDs and Layout), Specifications for treatment equipment, instrumentation, and controls, Engineering reports and feasibility studies (provide direction / review), Quality reviews.
- Assist Arcadis project managers with developing and managing the project scope, budget, staffing, and schedule.
- Manage technical coordination and leadership roles on larger or complex projects or projects with higher associated risk. Lead knowledge transfer and development of staff within your area of expertise.
- Lead business development activities to increase project wins and develop long-lasting client relationships. Routine tasks include: Leading pursuits and development of proposals, Client meetings for business development, Work directly with clients to determine needs and provide solutions, Participating in client interviews, Engaging with Arcadis regional, national, and global client account teams, supporting the expansion of business development opportunities and client relationships to strategically grow Arcadis industrial water / wastewater portfolio, leveraging existing and new client relationships. Preparation of abstracts and technical papers.
Qualifications & Experience:
Key Attributes:
- Ability to diagnose complex industrial water and / or wastewater challenges and develop viable remedies / solutions.
- Industrial water / wastewater SME in one or more of the following technical areas: biological treatment, zero liquid discharge, brine management (including thermal evaporation and crystallization), detailed design, in-plant water use optimization (i.e., reduce / reuse / recycle), ultra-high purity water production (for semiconductor manufacturing).
- Industrial water / wastewater SME for one or more of the following sectors: Technology (e.g., semiconductors / chips), Oil and Gas, Chemical / Petrochemical, Life Science, Food and Beverage, Pulp and Paper, Automotive and Aerospace.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field of study.
- 15 years of industrial water / wastewater treatment experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master of Science or PhD Degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field of study.
- PE license.
- Knowledge and experience with multinational industrial clients.
- Knowledge and experience with industrial clients in California.
- Previous experience in a regional role and collaboration across regional teams.
