Role Summary

As the Manager of Prototype Warehouse & Parts Management, you will be at the forefront of our vehicle development process. You will architect and oversee the crucial flow of materials that bring our prototype assets to life. This is an opportunity to join our team and leverage your experience to build teams and processes from the beginning. This is a high interface role between not only our teams but also our parent companies, so a partnership mindset is key. Your experience in BOM management, warehouse operations, and process development will be critical as you lead the charge in transforming our prototype capabilities.This role is located at our Irvine, CA office and reports directly to the VP of Technical Programs and Business Operations.

Responsibilities

Bill of Materials (BOM) Management

• Work closely with product development teams across RV Tech and the parent companies to create the initial BOM.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of prototype BOMs.
• Develop a process for managing changes to prototype BOMs, inclusive of deviations and spare parts.
• Work closely with the parent companies to set a process for transparency in tracking and delivery of all parts.
  
  

Warehouse Material Management

• Manage warehouse materials upon arrival at the facility.
• Track inventory and ensure proper storage, check in / check out procedures, and long term part disposition
• Manage long-term disposition of parts before the 3-year expiration date.
• Implement procedures for part tracking, distribution, and disposal.
  
  

Team Leadership and Development

• Build and Empower a High-Performance Team: You will be instrumental in building and mentoring a team of 3-5 individuals, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence in prototype parts management.
• Process development for the end to end prototype parts management process including setting up a system to manage this.
• Leadership communication and clear program status across all assets
  
  

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Computer Science or Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other related technical fields with 7+ years relevant experience
• Experience with Bill of Materials (BOM) management.
• Warehouse material management experience.
• Leadership skills and team building experience.
• Inventory tracking and management expertise.
• Process development experience
• Expert in agile and waterfall development process using Jira and other program management tools.
  
  

Pay Disclosure

Salary Range/Hourly Rate for Irvine, California Based Applicants: $137,800 - $172,200 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).

Benefits Summary: Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies provides robust medical/Rx, dental and vision insurance packages for full-time and part-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Full Time Employee coverage is effective on the first day of employment. Part-Time employee coverage is effective the first of the month following 90 days of employment.
