Job Overview:

The Estimator supports the preparation of accurate, competitive cost estimates for commercial construction projects. This role requires prior estimating experience, a solid understanding of construction methods, and schedule impact awareness. The Estimator works under senior guidance but is expected to manage specific scopes, perform quantity takeoffs, and contribute to bid strategy and execution.

Responsibilities:

• Perform quantity takeoffs and develop scope sheets
• Evaluate subcontractor bids for completeness
• Write scope clarifications and assist with bid comparisons
• Track addenda and RFI responses
• Prepare internal estimate documents
• Collaborate on constructability and scheduling during preconstruction

Requirements:

• Experience in estimating commercial construction, familiar with CSI divisions, drawing review, and trade scopes
• Knowledge of constructability and construction sequencing
• Organized, detail-oriented, and deadline-driven

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field.

Experience:

Minimum 2-5 years of estimating experience in commercial construction; experience with general contracting or construction management firms is preferred.

Skills:

• Proficient in reading plans and specifications
• Skilled in Microsoft Excel, Bluebeam, and estimating software
• Strong communication skills

Abilities:

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Initiative in resolving scope gaps
• Identify value engineering opportunities

Certifications:

No certifications required; OSHA 10 and LEED or DBIA familiarity are beneficial.

Qualifications:

Experience in healthcare, higher education, or entertainment projects is a plus; familiarity with Procore and Building Connected is preferred.

Working Conditions:

Office-based with occasional site visits and pre-bid meetings. Standard hours with some extended hours during bid periods.
