As they scale, they are looking for a dedicated and experienced Human Resources Generalist who specializes in benefits and payroll to join our dynamic team. This position offers the opportunity to play a key role in shaping our HR operations while contributing to the continued success and growth of the organization.


Position Overview

The Human Resources Generalist – Benefits & Payroll Specialist will be responsible for overseeing and managing payroll for 400 employees using ADP Workforce Now (WFN), acting as the primary point of contact for employee benefits, and leading open enrollment efforts. In addition, this role will take on other generalist HR duties, contributing to the development and execution of HR initiatives across the organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in payroll and benefits administration, with the ability to support the evolving needs of our growing organization.


Job Duties

Payroll Administration:

  • Oversee the bi-weekly payroll process for approximately 400 employees using ADP Workforce Now (WFN), ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  • Manage payroll taxes, garnishments, deductions, and other payroll-related functions.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and laws.
  • Coordinate with the finance department to reconcile payroll and ensure accurate financial reporting.

Benefits Administration:

  • Serve as the main point of contact for all employee benefits-related inquiries.
  • Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, disability, and other wellness programs.
  • Lead the open enrollment process, providing guidance to employees and facilitating enrollment for benefits programs.
  • Ensure compliance with benefits regulations, including ACA and ERISA requirements.
  • Maintain relationships with benefits providers and vendors, negotiating terms and resolving any issues.

HR Generalist Duties:

  • Provide general HR support and assistance across various areas including employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, and performance management.
  • Assist with the development and execution of HR policies and procedures in alignment with organizational goals and compliance requirements.
  • Manage employee files and HRIS data, ensuring confidentiality and adherence to company policies.
  • Support talent acquisition efforts by coordinating job postings, scheduling interviews, and supporting new hire onboarding.
  • Collaborate with the HR team to support employee engagement, training, and development initiatives.

HR Strategy and Growth:

  • Contribute to HR initiatives supporting the organization's organic and acquisition-driven growth.
  • Provide HR support during mergers and acquisitions, including integration of payroll and benefits systems, policies, and employee communications.
  • Maintain an understanding of industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes to ensure continuous improvement in HR processes and systems.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in human resources, with a focus on payroll and benefits administration.
  • Hands-on experience using ADP Workforce Now (WFN) for payroll processing and benefits management.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll regulations and benefits compliance.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Detail-oriented and highly accurate in payroll and benefits administration.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a growing HR team.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to support the evolving needs of a growing organization.
