CAD DRAFTER with electrical design & estimating experience

CAD Drafter needed, possessing a minimum 4-6 years of recent, verifiable, related work experience in a CAD drafting position with electrical and lighting construction project drawing experience, shop drawing experience, and project electrical estimating / take-off experience.

Qualifications and Experience needed:

- Use of CAD drafting software (2018 and higher) to generate 2D construction layout plans

- Experience with, and possessing, the following CAD drafting skills

o Layer control and layer management

o XRef 's (PDF to Tiff converted files primarily, and native CAD files, as backgrounds)

o Model Space

o Paper Space (advanced level of experience with layout viewports)

o Scales / Scale factors

o Plotting to pdf

o Architectural / Construction plans paper sizes

- General computing experience

o Network files / folders navigation

o Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel)

o Use of online file storage, online tools such as online planrooms and construction bidding portals to retrieve construction plans

- General to advanced knowledge of construction, electrical construction, lighting layouts and electrical installation materials (wiring, jboxes, light fixtures, power supplies, etc)

- Excellent listening and communication skills

- Strong attention to detail including product specification data

- Highly organized

- Ability to work independently as well as with a team

- HS diploma with some college a plus

- CAD training or CAD training certificate a plus

- Clean driving record

- Ability to pass a background check

What you will be doing:

- Reviewing project construction plans sets with manager(s) to prepare for lighting layout drafting (fixtures, linear lighting, accent lighting, lighting run length designations).

- Selecting the proper CAD Templates (Tblocks, legends, details, pre-defined layer lists) from libraries to use to initiate the drafting process.

- Xref relevant background drawing(s) or Tiff files and set up layout sheets with various viewports for details or specific areas of work on the overall plans.

- Prepare drawings depicting locations of light fixtures, linear light fixtures, accent lighting, power supplies, jboxes, and other electrical devices, while working under the direction and prioritization designated by manager(s).

- Make corrections / drawing revisions changes as needed.

- Help maintain project file directory structure, store files in proper project location, annotate revision histories.

- Attend meetings with team members.

- Provide updates on tasks in process as needed / or requested.

Employment type:

- Full time

- Monday thru Friday, 7:30AM to 4:30PM.

- Some nights and weekends may be required to meet deadlines for customer requirements

Compensation:

- To be determined based on experience and qualifications

- Full time employees become eligible for company employee benefit plan after 90 days of employment
