Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Estimator to join our team. The Estimator will be responsible for analyzing project specifications and requirements to provide accurate cost estimates for various construction projects in the retail and commercial sectors. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in estimating, particularly in private sector projects, and a solid understanding of construction processes and materials.
Key Responsibilities
- Review project specifications and drawings to understand project scope and requirements.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including labor, materials, and overhead.
- Collaborate with project managers and clients to clarify project details and requirements.
- Conduct site visits to gather necessary information for accurate estimates.
- Analyze historical data and apply it to new estimates to improve accuracy.
- Maintain a database of cost information for future reference and benchmarking.
- Assist in the preparation of bids and proposal submissions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience as an Estimator in the retail or commercial construction sectors.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and costs.
- Proficient in estimating software and tools.
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with clients and project teams.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
