Job Details

Salary Range: $45.41 - 69.85 /hour. Actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, work experience, skill level, and education.

Under the direction of the technical supervisor and medical director, the Ultrasound Technologist I demonstrates competency and proficiency in all skills required to perform level I routine ultrasound procedures as defined by department protocols.

• All technologists utilize independent judgment and required knowledge to obtain high quality diagnostic ultrasound images.
• The technologist competently evaluates the technical quality of the images obtained and prior to submitting to interpreting radiologist.
• They educate the patient/family about the procedure and report all changes in patient's status, including initiating emergency response if required.
• They accurately document patient information in the appropriate hospital systems.
• Hospital based positions may require call responsibility and rotation to hospital adjacent imaging center locations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

• Associates degree or higher.
• Graduate of an ARDMS approved ultrasound program.
• Minimum one year of experience is preferred but will consider new grads.
• Hospital/OP Imaging locations only: Experience may be considered in lieu of education if licensure and certification requirements are met.
• Graduate of a Commission of Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs approved program (exception for programs completed prior to 1994).

Certifications Required

• BLS.
• American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) registered in one or more specialties
