The Conservation Corps of Long Beach (CCLB) is a private, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that has helped at-risk young adults develop themselves since 1987. To date, more than 10,000 young people have participated in CCLB classes and service projects, learning new skills while contributing to the quality of life for residents of the greater Long Beach area.

The primary mission of the Conservation Corps of Long Beach is to develop at-risk youth to reach their full potential through work, service, conservation, and education.
Position Summary
Under the supervision of the Director of Construction Training and the Project Manager for the Landscape Construction Department, the Project Coordinator will be responsible for direct supervision of the Landscape Construction Department and for the planning, coordination and business development of Landscape Construction projects that include but not limited to: Landscape Construction, Irrigation Systems, Weed Abatement, Demolition, Concrete Work, Work Safety Measures, Tree Planting, along with developing and monitoring project budgets, reports, and Data Tracking.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Oversee and coordinate Landscape Construction Projects and their crews
- Oversee and manage Landscape Construction Projects crew supervisors
- Write and manage Landscape Construction Projects budgets
- Tool Inventory and oversee Construction project materials, supplies, equipment and vehicles maintenance
Coordination: - Plan, develop, bid, and evaluate Landscape Construction projects, with public, non-profit agencies, government agencies, and private sector companies.
- Help write Landscape Construction Department budgets and project reports
- Provide regular supervision, training, and mentoring of Crew Supervisors and Corpmembers
- Coordinate field supervisors and their crews for daily operations.
- Coordinate Landscape Construction projects and programs with project partners and sponsors.
- Conduct weekly site visits to project work sites to ensure crews are working effectively and safety.
- Communicate and coordinate with project sponsors, including state and federal government entities such as Local City Municipalities, Watershed Conservation Authority, County of Los Angeles, etc
- Prepare a weekly schedule for all Landscape Construction crews and projects and maintain Construction Program Project Schedule(s).
- Conduct bi-weekly staff meetings on various organizational topics in coordination with the Landscape Construction Manager and Landscape Construction crew supervisors
- Prepare bi-weekly meeting agenda for Landscape Construction department meetings to provide updates to field staff and ensure proper safety protocols are being followed through various situational scenarios.
- Participate in the orientation of the new corpsmember applicants (when required)
- Assist the Landscape Construction Manager with the coordination and supervision of the corpsmember development and training programs.
- Manage equipment, project materials, safety equipment, and uniforms and oversee Landscape Construction budgets to ensure expenses are within budget.
- Prepare reports and present them to project sponsors, CCLB Board meetings, and City Council meetings.
- Record daily project metrics in the field and upload data and photos to the CCLB one drive or CorpNet
Reporting and Record Keeping- Log and file daily metrics of all Landscape Construction projects on the shared metrics tracker sheet and complete monthly metrics reports to monitor project progress.
- Maintain equipment, repair or replace tools, track project needs, and report equipment and vehicle needs.
- Ensure field supervisors upload project photos weekly to the shared project photos folders, CorpNet and Procore
- Ensure field supervisors scan daily timesheets at the end of each workday.
- Monitor Landscape Construction project budgets and spending and track expenses and hours.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and final reports of all project activities.
- Represent Conservation Corps of Long Beach via professional conferences and outside training sessions.
- Manage and reconcile all budget expenses and revenues from all projects monthly to ensure budget milestones are met.
- Complete monthly mileage logs for all Landscape Construction projects and vehicles.
- Complete quarterly staff evaluations for field supervisors who report to the Landscape Construction coordinator
Supervision: - Directly responsible for the supervision of the Landscape Construction field supervisors and their corpsmembers.
Reporting Procedures: - Counsel, motivate and discipline individual corpsmembers as appropriate.
- Participate in staff and corpsmember trainings and meetings.
Required Education and Experience:- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Strong technical report writing skills
- Three years of experience in working with young adults from a diverse social and ethnic background
- A background and experience in landscape construction, urban greening, ecology, or wild and natural land management.
- Three years prior supervisory experience.
- Knowledge and appreciation of environmental conservation awareness. An affinity and ability to share and instruct environmental ethics with CCLB participants and staff.
- Possess good interpersonal skills to communicate and work effectively with public officials, community and public entities, and other constituents and stakeholders.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Comfortable working in an office environment and sitting for extended periods.
- Willing to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Valid California Driver's License
Preferred Education and Experience:- A. or B.S. from accredited college or university.
- Prior experience in scheduling and supervising crews
- Prior management experience with public or non-profit agencies
Other Duties and Requirements:- DMV print-out, Class C Driver's License
- First Aid/CPR certification is required as a condition of employment (or within 30 days of employment).
- Employment is contingent upon validation of a good driving record.

Salary and Benefits:- $66,560.00 - $77,022.40 (reflects the base range to the mid range) based on a level of experience and education that exceeds the minimum requirements and is commensurate with the compensation scale (salary range).
